Maureen J. Sabia, BA, J.D., Vice Chair
Maureen Sabia is
Chairman of the Board of Canadian Tire Corporation. She is also a director
of Canadian Tire Bank and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International
Trade Canada Departmental Audit Committee.
Miss Sabia, a lawyer, has had careers in both the public and private
sectors. She has been Chairman of the Export Development Corporation, a
past Chairman of the Audit Committee of Canadian Tire, and of the Public
Accountants Council.
She was formerly a director of Gulf Canada Resources Limited, Hollinger
Inc., Laurentian General Insurance Company inc., O&Y Properties Corporation,
O&Y First Place Tower Inc. and Skyjack Inc.
She has been a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Guelph,
a member of the Board of Trustees of Sunnybrook Medical Centre and Chairman
of the Sunnybrook Medical Centre Foundation.
Miss
Sabia has co-authored “Integrity in the Spotlight – Opportunities for Audit
Committees, published in 2002 and “Integrity in the Spotlight – Audit
Committees in a High Risk World,” published in 2005.
